Sore throat relief

Sore throat relief

A while ago, I wrote something about relief sore throat in natural way. Today, I will talk about another ways you can try to relief the sore throat symptoms.

I understand itchy, swollen and tender throat is not only uncomfortable. It is pretty painful to the point of having difficulty in swallowing.

A sore throat can either be caused by a viral infection usually coming with colds, flu and cough or a bacterial infection accompanied by a throbbing head.

It can also be caused by other things like allergies, infected tonsils and throat abuse like excessive shouting and even coughing!

Whatever the cause is, a sore throat is brought about by an inflamed pharynx and should receive proper treatment. Here are a few home remedies for sore throat you can try at home.

  • Saltwater. Make saltwater by mixing in salt with a cup of lukewarm water. Gargle saltwater every now and then but no more frequent than per hour. Saltwater can help in swelling reduction. I emphasized this in my previous article.
  • Raspberry Tea. You can also use raspberry tea as gargle to relieve sore throat. Simply place 2 teaspoons of dried raspberry leaves in one cup of boiling water. Let it seep for 10 minutes and strain the dried leaves. Use as a gargle.
  • Apple Cider Vinegar. Combine 8 ounces of hot water, 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and 1 tablespoon of honey. Drink the concoction while it is hot. This drink has been a very popular home remedy for sore throat across countries. You can also make a gargle by dissolving 1 teaspoon of salt in 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar and mixing it with 1 cup of warm water.
