All of us are familiar with those unsightly worm like veins in our legs that have grown bigger and bigger as we observe them. How did they appear? Well, there are a lot of factors involved and one of which is prolonged standing, pregnancy, obesity etc.

You see, our veins function as the pathway of blood from the legs to our heart and in order for these veins to go against gravity, meaning, they can bring blood up to the heart without returning back, they have to have perfect valves that can withstand the pressure.

In varicosities, this is the problem. The valves break or they are weak, so the blood pools back to the vein, causing the unsightly varicosity. They come in all shapes and sizes and can become very unsightly and painful. Medical doctors will prescribe also a natural varicose veins remedy called the compression stockings which you can wear.

They are bulky and expensive though. Alternative medicine prescribes cures that can really enhance the integrity of the walls of the veins. Even if they don’t all disappear, they can reduce in size, reduce pain and may prevent new ones from forming.

To do construction work of these veins, alternative doctors prescribe bioflavonoid. It is varicose veins remedy solution. And the most powerful one is called quercetin, a natural flavonoid. It has been found to be very fantastic in treating and preventing varicose veins.

Take 500 to 600 milligrams capsules of this natural drug three times a day with meals. You may also add Vitamin C as another source of vein strength. Make it 2,000 milligrams per day.

Like a muscle that needs to be toned, there is a natural venotonic called a horse chestnut extracts. It will strengthen the elastic fibers in the vein wall and improves its tone, making it able to tighten and contract. A 300 milligrams capsule is recommended.

Well, I have also practiced elevating my legs while lying down. This is to help my veins bring blood to my heart easily. I have yet to try hydrotherapy. It is done by using an alternative hot and cold foot bath before bed to improve leg circulation.

One large basin with cold water and another with very warm water will be prepared for this purpose. Soak the feet in cold water for at least 30 seconds. After that put the feet into hot water (about 50 degrees Celsius) for 3 minutes. Repeat three times ending with a final 30 seconds soak in cold water.
